I think letter writing is a thing of the past because most people nowadays use emails, phones or social network sites to contact friends or people they know. In the past there wasnt as great 'technology' as there is now so lots of people probably used letter writing to contact others back then.

Most people use technology to contact people rather than letters as it is quicker and cheaper to use. There is also a lot less work with emails and are almost guaranteed to reach the person, while there is a risk that your letter may get lost in the post.

I think letter writing is a thing of the past most people instead of sending a letter would send a text or email as it is cheaper and faster. Where as a letter would take days to get to the recipient.

I believe that letter writing is a thing of thing of the past, but not gone entirely. Majority of people now who would like to contact someone would sent an e-mail or use a phone, However if the ocassion was formal then a letter oftern is used. (e.g. lettler of application)

Yes,I believe that letter writing is a thing of thing of the past as there is a lot more technology in the world today. People have filled in the gaps with other types of communication (e.g.: Facebook, Skype etc.), Most people would rather said an email or text to contact there friends or family, as it is very cheap and quick way of doing so. Compared to writing a letter which may get lost in the post, or may take a few day for recipient to receive it. Also technology has left it much easier for people to interview for jobs abroad (e.g.: Skype) in some situations. These are the reasons why I think letter writing is a thing of the past.

Yes I agree letter writing is a thing of the past as nowadays the average child has a phone at the age of 7 and nearly every adult has a mobile or an electronic device in their home which can be connected to the internet. All these devices can be used to communicate in someway weather it be through text or a social network. Because of these the use of letter writing becomes obsolete

Yes I agree, people are more likely to use technology to communicate than letter writing. It is likely more faster to send a simple text or email than to write out a letter and send it away. Also people use social websites to communicate with others.

yes i do believe that letter writting is a thing of the past as there are numerous faster and cheaper alternatives such as texting and facebook for examples. Only four to six per cent of the irish public still send romantic love letters while between 89 and 97 per cent of the irish public have sent a romantic email or text.

Yes I think letter writing is a thing of the past. Now many people have phones computers and other sorts of devices whereas fifty or sixty years ago people wouldn't of had the luxury to sit down on there computer and type an email.By using these devices it is a lot easier to talk to someone or make our feelings known rather and write a letter. These devices have replaced letter writing.
